SNARK of the WEEK | Sat. May 26, 2012 | News You Could Lose! #2

I’m baaaaaaaack. Round two. I had a really hard time choosing what to leave out this time because the news this week was MESSED UP.

The gamut: US favorable on giving Turkey armed drones, “birthers” are back, Illinois hates real food, loves Monsanto, Monsanto loves unleashing mutations, the UN wants to save the planet (just not the people living on it), buying our cheap trash from China, Merck sucks, flu shots help pregnant women if you are a eugenicist, World Health Org says Fukushima radiation is awesome, TSA wants to grope you — hires pedo bears to do it — and is training said pedos to detect bombs in our crotches, Eric Holder might get held in contempt (of humanity? already is) and the Dept. of Justice on obstructing justice, love the drones because the gov loves you, meet the felon who took 40% of the vote from Obama in WV (question remaining: why did 60% vote Obama???), coal plant closures cost Americans big in electricity bills, climate change and WWII are compared for the lose (not even making that up, and if you say I am, you are a denier!), don’t worry — Jamie Dimon Fed appt. is more “advisory” — too bad he took his own advice and lost billions…and I’m sure there is something else but I can’t remember now.

Ah…the news…good times. It’s like a train wreck: you don’t want to see the horror but you can’t look away. It’s worse than a bad soap opera written in a language you don’t know but there aren’t any other channels on your TV so you watch out of sheer boredom…something like that.

Random Weird Thing I Did Not Mention, But This Made Me Scared Simply Because It Exists: http://data.massivehealth.com/ People download an app and take pictures of what they eat and send them in to this massive database throughout the day from all over the world. Big brother much? The data is compiled in this international health initiative that keeps track of where healthy eating is happening with green (good), yellow (caution), and red (bad). It says, “Other apps tell you about your food. We tell you about yourself.” Creeeeeeeeeepy.

(Infographic) FORWARD 2012: America’s Police State Descent (Jan-Apr)

I created this to show all the activities that have taken place just in the first four months of this year that have helped to propel America into a police state. People who do not believe this is happening cannot exactly explain all this away, can they? I cut it off an April. May could take up it’s own entire sheet.

(I’m sure I left some things out…so much has happened in such a short time…)

Losing Freedom: Where Is Your Line?
(by cloudylissa)

Why aren’t more people more concerned with the current (police) state of America? Why are people complacent to let the tyranny take over? From the TSA groping us all right down to our grandmothers’ adult diapers to increased military terror drills on our city streets to the red zone over Chicago for the upcoming NATO summit to the DHS buying a ridiculous amount of hollow point bullets, things are all jacked up and a large majority seems not to care.

The “it can’t happen here, this is America” mentality isn’t really holding water anymore…that boat is sinking. Where is the line?

Have you seen the “I’m in!” Obama campaign ads? Have you come across blogs where people have jumped on that trendy bandwagon by taking pictures of themselves holding up signs with reasons they are “in” and voting for Obama again this November?

Well, if I could be any more out, I’d break a space time barrier, circle around to being in, then back to out again. I. Am. OUT.

Filmed this, then I realized I forgot Obamacare, Guantanamo, continuing the phony drug war, cutting health benefits to our active military/veterans, Bradley Manning, and attempts to play on people the MSM during the Trayvon Martin case to ultimately limit our 2nd Amendment. And probably 8 bagillion other things that would make this video go on for nine months and take up reams of dead trees.

Re: Leaked US Army Doc on DOMESTIC Re-education (FEMA) Camps on Infowars.com

(Recorded 5/3/12)

Today’s Infowars.com story “Leaked U.S. Army Document Outlines Plan For Re-Education Camps In America” sparked controversy and many people were quick to try to disprove the document’s validity or argue that it is not meant for US citizens. The US Army field manual 3-39.40 - Internment and Resettlement Operations outlines internment plans for “political activists” who would be “pacified” by “PSYOP Officers” to “appreciate US policies.”

After looking through it myself, I can assure you there is no “Get out of FEMA Camp Free” card for the American people anywhere in this official 300+ page military document. Don’t take my word for it, however; go to Infowars.com and read it for yourself (link below).

Could Your College Loan Debt Keep Your Parents from Leaving the Country?

Melissa Melton
May 2, 2012

Ever heard that Benjamin Franklin quote, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”?

Yesterday the Marine Corps Times ran a story regarding a deceased Marine soldier’s parents who are embroiled in a battle with the IRS over whether or not they should have to pay their son’s student loan tax bill. Lance Cpl. Andrew Carpenter passed away following a sniper wound he suffered while on active duty in Afghanistan last year. Now the federal government is billing his parents, as co-signers, for the taxes his student loans accrued—even though he is dead.

Did you even know the IRS considers forgiven student loans—money college students borrow to pay for school expenses and have to then pay back with interest—the same as income? According to IRS policies, if a college student dies (or becomes disabled), his or her forgiven student loans are taxable the same way employment paychecks are. Carpenter’s parents are fighting back and have enlisted freshman Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-Tenn) to help. DesJarlais has proposed the Andrew P. Carpenter Act to exempt loan forgiveness as taxable income for any soldier who dies while on active duty as a result of a service-connected injury. Sadly, offsets would have to be found in other programs to “justify” the loss in revenue DesJarlais’s bill would garner or it will not even pass.

The IRS, you see, does not care if you fought and scarified your life for this country. They just want your money.

What about the rest of this country’s college students who are not serving in the military? In short, if you die, well, that is just too bad. No law for you. No protection for you. Or for your family who may have co-signed on your student loans.

This brings up another issue, however. With tuition rates increasing, student borrowing has increased. The NY Federal Reserve claims total American student loan debt is spiraling toward a trillion dollars as I type this. Eighteen-year-olds without jobs who could not even get approval for a $300-limit K-Mart credit card are being offered thousands upon thousands in student loans without so much as a credit check (because they are barely old enough to have credit!). Are these teens able to fully comprehend they are signing themselves up to become lucrative permanent debtors under our current economy? Parents co-sign large amounts of college loan debt because they want their children to be successful in life. However, due to high unemployment rates and lack of job market growth, student loan default rates are skyrocketing. A story in last year’s New York Times put figures at the highest they have been since the 1990s. The Institute for Higher Education Policy recently found that, for every default, there are two more students missing payments and headed that way.

So, that is potentially a trillion dollars in “income” our country’s students have “earned” if they die according to the IRS. Meanwhile, as Infowars.com reported a few weeks ago, the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act recently passed the Senate and would allow the IRS to revoke your passport without due process if you owe $50,000 or more in taxes. Wait, sorry, if the IRS claims you owe them $50,000. See, the bill does not actually require judicial determination. You do not have to be officially charged with tax evasion or fraud. The IRS simply has to contend you owe them the money—and poof!—you will no longer be able to leave the country. Constitutional? Not at all. Happening anyway? Yes.

While interest rates on federal student loans are relatively low (for now), interest on privately owned and offered student loans are another matter. Unpaid taxes add up over time. Regardless, laws like these are a slippery slope. Since when is it okay for the IRS to deny your fundamental rights? Could you not see a scenario play out where the amount owed to the IRS that could keep an American citizen from leaving the country is lowered? Today it is $50,000, but tomorrow? Is it really that far of a stretch to see a time coming when you owe, you die, and suddenly your parents are debt slaves who cannot leave the country because they cannot afford your forgiven student loan tax bill? (Side note: The same IRS policy holds true for forgiven credit card debt as well.)

As this police state clamps down tighter and tighter on Americans, with more of us guilty until proven innocent every day, it is not a huge stretch to see passports being revoked for smaller and smaller unsubstantiated tax bills. With millions of student loan debtors earning “income” they cannot even get a job to pay the bill on, the potential here could be bad.

Very bad.

An Open Letter to the Bilderberg Group (2012)
(by cloudylissa)

This coming May, these ultra-secretive elitist powergrabbers will meet once again to make decisions that potentially effect all of us all over the world. Why? These lobbyists have lots of lots of money burning a hole in their offshore bank accounts, so they get together to make their annual shopping list.

In the spirit of their little “meeting,” I decided to write them a letter.

“May future generations look back on our work and say that these were men and women who, in a moment of great crisis, stood up to the politicians, the opinion-molders, and the establishment, and saved their country.”

The War on Terror Is Over?! Let’s All Celebrate!
Melissa Melton

According to a 2011 Brown University report, the War on Terror has killed over 130,000 civilians—CIVILIANS!—in Iraq and Afghanistan alone. That figure is obviously a conservative estimate. Tallying the actual number of dead soldiers on both sides of this cancerous conflict who have given their lives fighting “terror” in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and other Middle Eastern countries to date would be nearly impossible. Yet, the Obama Administration has offhandedly informed us this week that the War on Terror is over with little fanfare.

Well, before you run out and celebrate, it would appear a few countries (including us) missed the memo, because somehow the now finished War on Terror is still able to continue killing people and enslaving us in a proliferating police state every day.

Here in America, the supposed land of the free and home of the brave, we are being bombarded with constitution-shredding laws and executive orders seemingly every other week: highlights include the Patriot Act, NDAA, National Defense Preparedness Resources, SOPA, CISPA, the Trespass Bill, and Obamacare just to name a few.

But the fun does not stop there! The USDA and FDA—apparently bought, paid for, and brought steaming to your dinner table by Monsanto and GMO—are used to terrorize small family farmers and whole foods producers more and more, strangling natural, non-mutated food out of existence by the day. After all, our nation’s Food Safety Czar was formerly a Monsanto lawyer-lobbyist, so the (genetically modified) apple does not fall far from the tree. Speaking of trees, UN Agenda 21 is running amok and if its makers have their way, we will all be paying foreign banks a carbon tax every time we exhale in the name of “sustainable development”.

Speaking of, those “too-big-to-fail” big failing banks and the Fed are cranking this country’s crazy train to economic collapse into overdrive. (Would you like another phony derivative to go with your low-interest student loan for a degree you will not even be able to get a job with after you graduate? Anyone?)

Once-thought-mythical FEMA camps are a reality, Homeland Security is buying egregious amounts of hollow-point bullets, and the TSA gropes and/or radiates us and our children every time we want to ride an airplane. We are constantly reminded we are guilty until proven innocent, which is why undercover TSA agents are even spying on us while we ride city buses now, and VIPR teams are taking to our highways in full-force. The NSA is building a massive two-billion-dollar data hub in Utah which they will not explain. They refused to answer when questioned about it by Congress, so why would they tell you and me?

February signified the approved mass unleashing of unmanned surveillance drones in our skies, some with honing systems and taser devices attached; it could be worse I suppose, they could deploy bombs like the ones sent to assassinate people in other countries without a congressional declaration of war or a public trial of any kind. You know, like the one that killed U.S. citizens Anwar al-Awlaki and his 16-year-old son without so much as a trial. Did I mention the White House just approved expanding this lovely program in Yemen yesterday?

To top it off, we lack even a pretense of the system this nation was founded on anymore, as our President has openly announced his plans to circumvent Congress (and therefore, our system of checks and balances to rein the executive branch in). Our Secretary of Defense has even informed Congress that our military takes marching orders from the United Nations now, but not to worry, they will inform Congress when they are going to make strategic moves against other nations. According to 2010 Center on Responsible Politics data, there were 12,951 lobbyists who spent a combined $3.5 billion dollars influencing Congress. That averages 24 lobbyists and $6.5 million dollars per Congressperson. Are we even really surprised, then, that Congress has been downgraded to little more than ceremonial political theater at this point?

I am just so sick and tired of this outright attack on our nation and our freedom! The War on Terror is over?!

What a complete mockery of lives lost on 9/11, of every person who has fought and every person who has died in its name since, and of every single one of us just trying to retain somewhat of a semblance of our right to liberty in the once-free Republic of the United States of America.

Orwell’s 1984 was not supposed to be an instructional manual.

I am sorry guys… I’m ranting. I was not even going to enter this contest again, that is, until I saw the announcement offhandedly made by the Obama administration that the War on Terror is “over”.

Move along, nothing to see here…
